Beijing Normal University (BNU), directly subordinate to the administration of Ministry of Education, is a comprehensive and research-oriented key university renowned for teacher education. Rich in famous teachers and educational resources, BNU has long been an important base to cultivate high-quality and innovative candidates/students/learners and researchers. At present, BNU has 2 national talent training and scientific research bases for basic arts disciplines, 5 national training bases for basic science research and teaching talents, and 1 national pilot college, which has been selected into the national experimental plan for training top-notch students in basic disciplines. After 1960s, Beijing Normal University was one of the earliest Chinese universities to launch international education program. At present, there are 37 bachelor degree programs, 80 master degree programs and 65 Ph.D. programs recruiting international students. As an important administrative department of BNU, Provost’s Office and Academic Affairs (graduate school) accounts for the management of undergraduate and postgraduate personnel training. Subordinates are Admission Office, Training Office, Teaching Quality Office (Degree Evaluation Committee Office), Teaching Resources Office and Comprehensive Office.
Overall, Admission Office of Provost’s Office and Academic Affairs is responsible for the enrollment of undergraduates, postgraduates and international students. Specifically, international student admission work includes compilation of major catalogue of academic and non-academic students, release of enrollment information, review of application materials, the organization of examination and management of student enrollment.
