In order to encourage and support excellent international students study in Beijing, Beijing government established the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students.
I. Applicants Eligibility
1. Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport and in good health both mentally and physically.
2. Applicants must be new international students who have been admitted to Beijing Normal Universiy and will enroll in the year of admission.
3. Requirements for Education Background and Age:
- Applicants for the scholarship to pursue a bachelor's degree must be under 25 years old.
- Applicants for the scholarship to pursue a master's degree must be under 35 years old.
- Applicants for the scholarship to pursue a doctoral degree must be under 40 years old.
- Applicants for non-degree studies (including university-level exchange students) must have an educational background equivalent to a bachelor's degree or be current undergraduate/graduate students, and must be under 45 years old.
4. Applicants may not simultaneously receive other scholarships established by Chinese governments at any level or social organizations.
Note: Current students should refer to the relevant regulations issued by the International Students Office of Beijing Normal University when applying for this scholarship.
II. Scholarship Categories and Coverage
The Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students is divided into three categories:
Type A: Covers tuition fees, accommodation fees (providing dormitories or accommodation subsidies), living allowances, and comprehensive medical insurance. Type B: Covers tuition fees, accommodation fees (providing dormitories or accommodation subsidies), and comprehensive medical insurance.
Type C: Covers tuition fees and comprehensive medical insurance.
III. Duration and Annual Comprehensive Evaluation
1. Duration
The funding period for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students shall not exceed the standard duration of study for the programs.
Doctoral students who are unable to complete their studies within the standard period due to exceptional circumstances may apply for an extension of the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students on funding period.
The funding period for non-degree students (general advanced studies students and senior advanced studies students) shall not exceed one academic year.
2. Annual Assessment
Students who have been awarded the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students must participate in the annual assessment each year to determine their continued eligibility for scholarship funding. The annual assessment procedures shall be subject to the relevant regulations issued by the International Student Office of Beijing Normal University.
IV. Application Procedure
1. Applicants shall log in to the "Beijing Normal University Online Application System for International Students" in accordance with the requirements specified in the university's admission brochure for international students, and complete the online application. During the process, applicants should select this scholarship in the "Scholarship" section.
2. Applicants shall mail the hardcopy application materials as required by the university.
3. After applicants are admitted, the university will conduct the scholarship review.
4. Applicants may check the results of the scholarship review through the "Beijing Normal University Online Application System for International Students".
