1. How many times do Chinese Language Program enroll?
Chinese Language Student, Undergraduate Credit Program (General Advanced Studies Students) and Graduate Credit Program (Senior Advanced Studies Students) are enrolled twice a year, respectively for fall semester (starting in September) and spring semester (starting in March).
2. What are the differences between Undergraduate Credit Program (General Advanced Studies Students) and Graduate Credit Program (Senior Advanced Studies Students) ?
Undergraduate Credit Program (General Advanced Studies Students) enrolls sophomores or students of higher education level to take undergraduate courses in departments and schools for one semester or one academic year.
Graduate Credit Program (Senior Advanced Studies Students) enrolls postgraduate or students of higher degree to take postgraduate courses for one semester or one academic year.
3. When can I apply?
For spring semester: from October to the end of November;
For fall semester: from April to June.

4. If I have little knowledge of Chinese, can I apply for Chinese advanced programs?
Yes. BNU welcomes the students with zero or above basic Chinese level from all over the world. We have nine different levels of classes for students to choose, ranging from beginners’ to advanced. After the registration, you need to take a class test to decide which class to study in.
5. The List of credit programs:
We has Undergraduate Credit Program (General Advanced Studies Students), Graduate Credit Program (Senior Advanced Studies Students), and English-taught credit program.
- Undergraduate Credit Program (General Advanced Studies Students): The applicants should be overseas students who are sophomores or of higher education level, and are to take undergraduate courses in BNU. The study duration is one semester or an academic year.
- Graduate Credit Program (Senior Advanced Studies Students): The applicants should be overseas students who are graduate or of higher education level, and are to take graduate courses in BNU. The study duration is one semester or an academic year.
- English-taught credit program (students study as general advanced students or senior advanced students, depending on their education level): Courses are mainly provided by colleges of Education, Psychology, Environmental Science, Philosophy, Law and Sociology. Program may enroll in spring or fall semester; for detailed information about the courses, please refer to the International Student Admission Website of BNU (https://admission-is.bnu.edu.cn) for the major list of English-taught credit programs in the catalogue of “Non-Degree Program”.
