3. When will the admission brochure and major catalog be released?
Degree Programs (undergraduate & graduate): annually around the middle of November.
Non-degree Programs: annually around the middle of March and the middle of October.
Please pay attention to the website of Admission of International Students (https://admission-is.bnu.edu.cn/english/index.html), on which the general rules will be released.
4. When can I apply?
Undergraduate Program (Degree Program): From the early December to the middle March of the following year.
Graduate Program (Degree Program): From the middle November to the late April of the following year.
Non-Degree Program:
Fall semester: from the late March to the end of June.
Spring semester: from the middle of October to the end of November.

5. How to pay the application fee?
After the online application, fees should be paid via the internet platform. On-site payment and cash payment will not be accepted. Fees will not be returned after the payment.
6. Can Chinese citizens with permanent residency of a foreign country apply for international student program?
No. Only applicants with Non-Chinese nationality can apply for the international student program of BNU, while those who have the permanent residence in foreign countries but retain Chinese nationality will not be accepted.
7. Can former Chinese citizens who have obtained foreign nationality apply for international student programs?
Undergraduate Program: At least one of the parents of the applicant is a Chinese citizen and resides in a foreign country; the applicant should have foreign nationality at birth, and hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years, and meanwhile, more than 2 years of actual residence in a foreign country has been recorded in the last 4 years. The actual residence of more than 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit signatures. For residences of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who immigrated to foreign countries and are applying as international students, please also refer to the requirements above. Applicant should also provide the documents certifying the cancellation of their original Chinese household registration and renunciation of Chinese nationality.
Postgraduate Program: Applicants who have naturalized as foreign nationality after being former Chinese citizens, and applicants with a foreign nationality at birth, at least one of whose parents a Chinese citizen, should provide the documents certifying the cancellation of their original Chinese household registration and renunciation of Chinese nationality.
8. Does Beijing Normal University accept international students transferred from other universities in China?
No.
9. Must the application materials be in Chinese or English?
Yes. Application materials should be in Chinese or English. For materials of other languages, notarized or certified translation should be appended.
10. Can application materials be submitted by emails? Can it be handed over by others for my sake?
Applicants should apply in Beijing Normal University International Student Online Application System, on which they should upload application materials. After passing the preliminary reivew, the paper version of application materials should be mailed according to the requirements of the admission brochures. Application materials sent by e-mail are invalid. All the materials should be submitted or sent before the deadline. Applicants with incomplete materials will not be accepted.

12. What are the key majors in BNU?
