1.Program Introduction
In order to deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign young generation, and to build a platform for the exchange of scientific research young talents in the world, China Scholarship Council (CSC) carries out China Link Short-term Scientific Exchange Scholarship Program (referred to as China Link Scholarship) .
2.Program Scheme
2.1 Funding Categories
General scholar: applicable to current undergraduates or graduates.
Senior scholar: applicable to current Ph. D candidates.
2.2 Duration
1-12 months
Start study in China no later than August 31, 2027.
2.3 Working Language
English or Chinese, depending on the program.
2.4 Study/Research Fields:
All disciplines other than Chinese language study.
3. Funding
Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from CSC during their stay in China, including tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and monthly stipend.
4. Eligibility
4.1 Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China and be in good health both mentally and physically.
4.2 Be under 45 applying for general scholars.
Be under 50 applying for senior scholars.
4.3 Register as full-time student at CSC’s foreign partner university by the time of application and throughout the proposed stay in China.

5. Application Process
5.1 Applicants must log on to the Online Application System for International Students of Beijing Normal University (https://international.bnu.edu.cn/) before June 30, 2026, register a personal account, fill in the application information and upload the required application documents in accordance with the requirements specified in the Admission Brochure for International Research Scholars of Beijing Normal University.
5.2 Applicants log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) to complete CSC online scholarship application. After submission, contact the Beijing Normal University’s international student admission department via email or the institution’s designated channel, and clearly inform them of the following information:「Full Name + CSC Serial Number + Application for China Link Scholarship」.
The CSC application portal is open to applicants all year round.
5.3 Beijing Normal University notify scholarship award results to applicants.
6. Application Materials
1. Beijing Normal University International Student Application Form. It will be generated after completing the online application.
2. Passport photo page. Applicants with a valid Chinese visa must also provide the recent visa page.
3. Certificate of enrollment of applicant’s current program.
4. Academic transcripts from applicant’s current program.
5. Personal Statement. Download the template from the BNU International Student Admissions website or the application system to complete.
6. Recommendation letter. One letter from a professor or supervisor at applicant’s current institution. There is no fixed format, but it must include the recommender's handwritten signature. The letter can be uploaded to the application system or sent directly to nondegree@bnu.edu.cn. Please clarify the name and the application number in the email.
7. Non-criminal record certificate. Not required for exchange students or the students dispatched under inter-university agreements.
8. "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" which is automatically generated after completing the online scholarship application.
9. Financial proof: Self-funded applicants must upload financial proof. Applicants nominated under a cooperative agreement or joint research project may upload relevant supporting documents instead. Exchange students are exempt from this requirement.
Note:
(1) Applications will not be processed if materials are incomplete or the application fee is not paid.
(2) All application documents must be in Chinese or English. Documents in other languages must be accompanied by a notarized translation.
(3) The university may request additional supporting materials from applicants as necessary.
(4) The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of the admission decision.
(5) Applicants must ensure all information provided in the application is true and accurate. If any information is verified to be fraudulent by the admissions office, the applicant will be denied admission, any offer already made will be revoked, and enrollment will be canceled if already commenced.
